1 Nov 2007 - Healthy School Award
The school has been awarded a national silver award.
We teach and encourage the children to eat healthy food, drink water and take regular exercise.
At school we are part of the government fruit scheme which ensures that the children have fresh fruit daily. Each child has their own water bottle, which they can drink from during the day. They are encouraged to bring healthy food in packed lunch boxes.
At play time we operate a Huff Puff scheme to encourage all children to be active at playtime. We have lots of euipment available for them to use.
We have 2 hours of Physical Education each week, including tennis or multi skills lessons at Key Stage 1.
Our extended schools agenda includes football, yoga, multi skills and gymnastics club. In the Spring term we shall also be running our popular dance club, to teach the children the dance for the performance at the Dome theatre in Brighton.
