The School Grounds

We are fortunate in having excellent facilities for the children to enjoy. Whenever possible the creative curriculum is delivered in the school grounds. Over the last few years considerable investment has been made in developing the outdoor areas.
We are very fortunate to have a beautiful sensory garden that our children are able to use to access the curriculum outside the classoom. The garden was built for us by HORIZON LANDSCAPES. The garden offers the opportunity for the children to transfer their learning experiences outside in a calm and quiet setting.
The garden offers multi-sensory experiences for the children. This herb garden encourages children to use their sense of smell. The colourful plants and bedding encourage the children to explore their environment through their sense of sight. The pergola is a calm place to help quiet reflection, and gives the opportunity to explore the sense of hearing.
The foundation stage curriculum is delivered outdoors in two large areas. Here the children experience literacy and communication, mathematics, science and creative activities.
Our new tyre park gives the children a great physical activity to enhance their learning of how to stay fit and healthy. The school has been awarded a national silver award for being a Healthy School. We also hold the Active Mark award.

The younger children in the Nursery, enjoy their physical activity in the garden. The carpet surface ensures that they are kept safe when jumping around the equipment. The children especially enjoy the "Clatter Bridge".
